Hobby Decal | ST32052 1/32 F-15E Stencils
Reviewed by Mark Proulx
Hobbydecal has released new stencils in 1/32nd scale for the F-15E Strike Eagle. These markings can be used with the Revell or Tamiya kits.
Very comprehensive instructions are included (not shown with this review). Modelers would be well advised to work slowly and study the proper placement carefully. The instructions are easy to read and include complete four views for the aircraft as well as the various weapons pylons and drop tanks. Each placard is difficult to read on the instructions, but numbers easily identify them on the transfer sheet.
These are dry transfer markings, not waterslide as many modelers are familiar with. Consequently, modelers have only one chance to correct place each placard. The stencils are printed over two pages and are much clearer than those shown with this review. There are extensive markings to be applied to your kit, likely to be very time consuming. The quality of the transfers is extremely good, with each placard easily read under magnification. The markings include formation light strips and national insignias with enough to complete a single subject.
Panel numbers are not included with this set. Those can be found on ST32051.
For those modelers wishing to add stencils to their aircraft, I would recommend they consider these placards from Hobbydecal. The printing is in perfect register and the dry transfer concept eliminates any carrier film. There are many placards to add which should provide modelers with hours of pleasure.
Review sample compliments of Hobbydecal.
