Contact Resine | Bf 109G2/G6 Control Surfaces in 1/24th Scale

Contact Resine has released a set of 1/24th scale control surfaces for the Bf 109 kits from Trumpeter. They are to be used with the G-2 and G-6 short tail variants.

Due to the simplicity of these replacement controls, no instructions are included.

Trumpeter supplies control surfaces that are attached with their well-known photo etch hinge system. Many modelers prefer to attach the control surfaces without the ability to move them. These new items from Contact Resine are replacements for those in the kit. They are cast in tan resin and it appears that the controls from the kit were used as masters. However, they display surface detail much different than that provided in the kit. The Trumpeter controls have scribed details, which would be incorrect for fabric control surfaces. These controls have prominent rib stitching detail, though slightly overscale in my opinion. Unfortunately, it appears that the trim tab was broken off the rudder supplied with my review sample. However, this is easily remedied by making the tab from sheet styrene.

I am quite impressed with these new items from Contact Resine. I recommend them to anyone wishing to add more accurate details to their Trumpeter Bf 109!
