Twobobs Aviation Graphics | 32-010 A-4E Top Gun Tinker Toys in 1/32nd scale
Reviewed by Mark Proulx
Twobobs Aviation Graphics continues with their 1/32nd scale decal line by releasing a sheet for very colourful A-4E Skyhawks from Top Gun. These markings are designed for use with the Hasegawa A-4E Skyhawk.
Four different A-4E schemes are depicted. They are:
1. A-4E 151059 VA-126
2. A-4E 152067 VF-45
3. A-4E 149656 NFWS
4. A-4E 151095 Jesters A-4 from the movie "Top Gun"
As usual, Twobobs print the instructions on high quality glossy paper. Left and right side profiles are included which greatly assist the modeller in determining how to paint these complex schemes. In a departure from their previous formats, no thumbnail photos of the aircraft are included. However, Twobobs do post photos of some of the aircraft on their website. Visit their site frequently as photos of these A-4E's may be posted. Completing the front page is a listing of some of the available 1/32nd scale items available.
The other side of the instructions include top and bottom views of each aircraft. FS 595b paint chips are included for all four schemes. These are matched to a listing of available Testors MM, Humbrol and Gunze Sanyo paints. Construction notes for two of the aircraft detail some of the minor changes required to accurately depict the 1/32nd scale Hasegawa kit. These should pose no difficulty to a modeller with previous experience.
Representing excellent value for your dollar, there are enough decals included to complete all four aircraft. The decals are printed in perfect register on two sheets of paper. They are very thin and I would expect no difficulty in applying them. However, I have not tried applying them yet.
I highly recommend this new 1/32nd scale decal sheet from Twobobs Aviation Graphics. Anybody with an interest in adversary aircraft will definitely enjoy this new decal sheet. The Hasegawa Skyhawk of the same scale can be built up into a very nice model. With the Black Box A-4E Cockpit announced as a future release a very eye catching model should be the results of your efforts.
Review sample compliments of Twobobs Aviation Graphics.
