Fine Molds | Hans Jochaim Marseille Figure
Reviewed by Unknown
As you may have guessed I have an tendency towards pilot figures. Fine Molds issued a couple of figures in the 1/32 scale.Among them was a figure of the Star of Africa. I bought the figure under the Hasegawa trademark. The figure is broken-down to the body and two arms. It comes with the instructions and a figure display base made from soft wood. The instructions are quite good for a figure showing a painting diagram with Gunze Sangyo colors numbers, and a brief history of the pilot.
Resemblance to Marseille is quite good, but not better then the Ulrich Puchala Figures. The figure is cast in plastic. The mold is starting to show it's age, which results in mold lines that are not to current standards. Construction is straight forward enough. Some dry fitting is required with the semi complex hands arrangement. I recommend replacing the glasses in the flying goggles with new ones made from Crystal Clear or something (if you need the goggles in some other project I use the ones from Italeri German Motorcycle set). The detail if not spoiled by mold lines is crisp enough. The figure when compared to the Ulrich Puchala ones looks a little to thin but is really not. The figure can be made out-of-the box, but with a lot of rescribing especially with the shoes. I will load some photos of my finished figure. Now where did I put that old Bf 109F kit...
I have no reservations to recommend the figure to any builder who can handle complex cleaning and some detail rescribing.
