Planet Models | #204: 1/32 BV 40V-1

This is one of Planet Models latest resin kit releases. It is kit #204. The kit comes in the typical Planet models 2 part box with a nice bit of artwork depicting the prototype. The kit consists of 35cream colored resin parts and 5 clear resin parts as well as decals for the first prototype.
The instructions are two 2-sided sheets, 3 sides in B&W and one side is the full color paint/decal guide. Here we have the fuselage halves and the main wings. there was minimal flash on my copy but a few pin hole air bubbles were detected. Nothing a little putty or Mr. Surfacer wouldn't fix.
Next up the interior parts ( main pilot position, front and rear bulkheads,Tail braces, and the horizontal stabilizer, pitot tube, trolley axle, tail skid, chin rest?,control stick, tow lug & venturi. The instrument panel on the left side has finely detailed instruments on it. I'll probably use MDC's German instrument decals. The instructions say to paint the entire interior RLM 66, but I'm sure adding some color to the knobs and the control stick and padded areas couldn't hurt. It's pretty tiny in there.
This is a shot of the under wing weapons gondolas, main skid and trolley wheels. Very crisp detail with a minimum of defects.
Last we have the clear resin bits, decals and control horns. The tiny T-shaped pieces are the attachment points for the trolly bracing. (Wire or sprue you have to supply. No real problem.) Definitely time for a new X-Acto blade when removing these bits!!
Well there you have it! A neat little model of another Luftwaffe 11th hour aircraft. The model is very nicely done and should make an easy weekend build. Only drawback is the price. Not cheap! It runs about $80.00 USD. I got mine on eBay but, I believe some of your better mail order shops should have it. Especially the ones in Europe.
