Jerry Rutman | 1/24th FW 190A-8/R2 Conversion
Reviewed by Tony Oliver
So, bored with the prospect of a 24th scale 190A-5? (It always puzzled me as to why Airfix didn't opt for the heavier gunned and much more business like A-7 or 8.) Well you could always convert it to an A-8 or even an A-8/R2 with the third review of Jerry Rutman's 24th scale series of conversion and detail sets.
This is a straightforward conversion without any real fussing you can at a stroke beef up the A-5 to a much more desirable machine. Again as in all of the products from Rutman Productions this set supplies the essential items to build what could be a truly great model, including new gun covers, the forward revised gun trough and a set of rather nice wheels to replace the nasty rubber things in the kit.
Coming soon are resin detail/conversions for the Hasegawa Bf 109G-6 and a 1/24th scale conversion for the Fw 190D-9, plus a whole host of Fw 190 conversions and some great new full kit releases form Jerry Rutman in 2002.
