Yellowhammer | Y3201: 1/32 F-4J Phantom (Blue Angels)
Reviewed by Chris Sherland
Yellowhammer released this set in 1996, and the review sample I purchased looked to be a touch old, so I'm not sure this sheet will be around long. With one glance at the catalogue number one could assume this was Yellowhammer's first sheet in 1/32!
The sheet is very nicely done, in high detail, and features extensive instructions that include cockpit modifications that were unique to the Blue Angels Phantoms; a nice touch. Decals are offered in two sheets printed in two colors (white and yellow) and allow the modeler to complete one of Blue Angels "1 -6" ships, complete with Bu numbers and pilot name stencils from the 1969 season.
The sheet is engineered to use the Tamiya F-4J kit, but can be used on the older (read MUCH older) Revell F-4J as well. The color guide is detailed and very useful, and the sheet is well researched.
If you want to build a Blue Angels F-4, this sheet will save you a lot of time and bring an accurate and beautiful result.
Recommended.
