Spada Decals | SD-32004: 1/32 F-100D
Reviewed by Chris Sherland
Spada Decals has released a new sheet for the upcoming Trumpeter 1/32 F-100 Super Saber focusing on no less than six "Huns" in French service.
The instruction sheets are very well done in full color, and give single side profiles for each scheme as well as a three-view general painting guide for the SEA camouflage pattern that French F-100s wore. While the bulk of the schemes portrayed are natural metal finished Super Sabers, the two camouflaged birds are very unique.
The instructions include a sharkmouth template to be cut and used to mask the red background color, and decals are provided for the teeth and detail on that marking.
The decals are printed beautifully by AVIPRINT and the review sample we received was in perfect register. The art masters look to be very detailed and in high color.
While I am sure we will see many aftermarket decals for Trumpeter's upcoming Hun, I am equally as sure we won't be seeing many as unique as this one. Each of the planes picked for this sheet is colorful and interesting, and includes very striking squadron badges.
With more releases announced at their website, Spada Decals looks to be entering the 1/32 (and 1/24) market quite boldly and with a high quality product.
