Hobbydecal continues to release new placards for the 1/32nd scale modeler. Among their latest efforts is a set of stencils for the AIM-120 Missile.
Complete painting and stencil placement instructions are included with these markings. Though not referred to in the title, this set also includes transfers for the LAU-12X Rail Launcher. The instructions are large and numbers easily identify each stencil. Left and right side profiles printed in black and white indicate the proper location for each placard.
These placards are dry transfer, not water slide familiar to most modelers.There are enough stencils to complete a set of six missiles from any one of three variants. Care must be taken when aligning the markings as you only have one chance to get it right. However, this benefits the modeler, as no carrier film will be visible on your finished missile.
By taking some care and paying attention a great looking missile should result. Note: the scan attached to this review isn’t as clear as the stencils provided. The actual stencils are crisp and easily read under magnification. I recommend these transfers to anyone looking to accurately depict their modern day ordnance.
