Warbirds | Wing Mounted Auxiliary Fuel tanks in 1/32nd Scale
Reviewed by Mark Proulx
Warbirds Productions has just released a number of 1/32nd resin items. In this, the first review of many, we will examine their new wing mounted auxiliary tanks as fitted on the Hawker Hurricane.
This is a very simple item to add to the Revell model. It consists of two resin fuel tanks and no instructions. The quality of the casting is very good. Closer inspection reveals no pinholes and some very subtle raised surface detail. I compared the cast items to photos in the book Hawker Hurricane Classic Aircraft No 4. These are the 44 gallon capacity tanks as fitted to Hurricane variants that required increased range. The cast items appear to accurately capture the outlines shown in the book. As no instructions are included, references will be required to identify the proper location to mount these tanks.
These new tanks will be a good addition to the Revell Hurricane. While this kit is dated, it is accurate in outline and these new products from Warbirds UK are long overdue. For those modelers that have been waiting to build the Revell Hurricane, it may finally be time!
