Warbirds | FAA Teardrop Belly Tank with Mounting Struts in 1/32nd Scale

Reviewed by Mark Proulx

Warbirds Productions continues expanding their product line with a new 1/32nd scale FAA drop tank.

The drop tank is cast in grey resin as a single unit. There are no instructions and no assembly is required. The only task for the modeler to perform is to remove the casting block and sand the remaining area smooth. As evident in the photo, my review sample had the casting block broken off the forward end. Careful examination of the drop tank reveals no air bubbles and the quality of the casting is very good. Additional references will be required to determine the correct mounting location for the drop tank.

This example of the FAA drop tank was used after the war, and can be seen attached to Mk XV and Mk XVII Seafires. It is also possible to see these used on other post war FAA aircraft. Warbirds UK offer a number of aftermarket products for the 1/32nd Spitfire. For those modelers wishing to modify or detail their kits, I suggest giving Warbirds Productions a try. I am confident that you will not be disappointed.

Review sample compliments of Warbirds Productions.
