This is quite an aircraft - shared by three pilots of VF-83 of CV9 USS Essex in 1945; Ensigns Donald McPherson, Bill Kingston Jr. and Navy Cross winner Lyttleton Ward. Ward downed four enemy planes in one day in May 1945, to add to a previous kill to make ace. McPherson and Kingston also finished the war as aces.
The small decal sheet provides all that is required to model this significant aircraft - including a skull and crossbones! - aside from the white CV9 markings on the tail, upper, and lower wings, but as they are straight lines, it shouldn't be too much trouble to mask.
