Barracuda Studios | BR32410: 1/32 Lancaster Main Wheels - Block Tread

Barracuda Studios continues to expand its BarracudaCast range of resin upgrade and detail sets with a new set of replacement wheels for HK Model's 1/32 scale Lancaster kit. Quoting from Barracuda's product information:

This set contains accurate resin mainwheels with staggered block tires, detailed hubs, and fine tire beading. Block tread tires were common among post war Lancasters. They are not appropriate for wartime aircraft, unless you just like the look better. This set also corrects some noticeable errors with the HK models wheels, which are wrong in cross section and the hubs are lacking both depth and detail.

This is a very simple set, consisting only of two beautifully detailed and cast one-piece Lancaster wheels:

The first thing you notice is how huge they are! The photo below, with one of the wheels posed next to a DSLR lens cap, gives you an idea:

Hub detail is superb, as is the fine beading that surrounds it:

The block tread detail on the tyres is very crisply rendered:

Conclusion

A simple set, executed perfectly. If you're planning to build a post-war Lancaster, then these wheels are really a must-buy.
