RB Productions | RB-P32009: 1/32 Marsden Matting/PSP
Reviewed by Randy Bumgardner
If you want to construct a diorama, RB Productions has something that will add that little touch to really bring the diorama up a notch. Noted for his Bf 109 wheel wells and canopy details, Radu Brinzan has released a photoetch fret of 1/32 U.S. Marsden Matting/PSP (pierced/perforated steel planking).
The photo-etch planks are very well done with very fine detail on all of them. The fret attachments are nice and thin for easy removal. Care must be exercised when removing and assembling the harnesses as they are very fine and subject to distortion if handled roughly. Care must be taken when bending the hooks – nothing out of the realm of anyone who has worked with PE before. Work slowly and carefully and everything will come together just fine.
The instructions provide a nice, clear guide showing where to bend the hooks and how to assemble the planking. The instructions also provide painting and finishing suggestions for the planking. Make sure to check your references.
Overall, I think these sets will only improve the look of your diorama. Clearly, one set will not be enough, so you'd better get at least two – especially if your planning a Vietnam diorama.
Highly Recommended!
