G-Factor | #32006: MiG-15 Landing Gear
Reviewed by Kevin Williams
Provided as a direct replacement for the kit gear, these should have no problem at all supporting the weight of the kit, as they're considerably more beefy than the kit gear. Offhand I'd say that these are direct copies of the kit gear (main and nose), but with a few refinements, still essentially the kit gear though, the fundamental difference being no (or at least, minimal) ejector pin marks, and slightly more petite details.
Parts
Pretty straightforward stuff, just trim/file and attach, so this may prove a viable option to dress up this specific area of your MiG kit.
Instructions
No instructions are included in the set, but then none are really required, given the direct replacement nature of the set.
Conclusion
While this is not a large or comprehensive detail set, it does provide a simple solution to the problem of improving the landing gear strength, a weakness of many kits, offering up yet another option to the modeler.
All in all, I see this as a very worthwhile expenditure for my own MiG, as I've had the gear on more than one kit collapse after years of relentless pressure.
Thanks to a good forum friend (Harv) for the review sample.
