Eduard Brassin | 6320063 Fw190F-8 Engine (for Revell kit)

Reviewed by Iain Ogilvie

This is a complete replacement engine and cowling panel set for Revell's recent Fw 190F-8 kit.

Above images are Eduard CAD renderings.

Resin Parts

Beautifully cast to Eduards usually high standard this comprehensive set features a large quantity of components in grey resin and two photo-etched frets. There are a small number of additional pipes that will need to be added by the modeller from thin rod, or wire - the lengths and diameters are specified in the instructions. To be honest, this is a pretty amazing detail set and, with everything opened up, should result in a stunning model.

Photo Etched Part

Two sheets of photo-etch are provided - one with details such as ignition harnesses and cowling latches and stays, and a second that provides alignment templates to assist with the positioning of the separate cylinder components.

Instructions

These are clear, concise and very detailed; they not only highlight where each item is fitted, but also have clear colour call-outs. Whilst complex, assembly should be straightforward once the resin pour stubs are removed.

Conclusion

I'm really becoming very impressed with the quality of Eduard's Brassin range. Top notch masters (which look like they've been designed using CAD software), perfect casting, nice etch, comprehensive decals and great instructions. This is a stunning and superbly detailed set - yet another great addition to any Revell Fw 190F-8 build.
