CMK | 5052: 1/32 P-40E/K/M/N Undercarriage Bays with Canvas Covers
Reviewed by Andrew Birnie
The Hasegawa P-40 kit has been released for quite some time, in a variety of marks, and decal options, however the undercarriage bays are represented with the basic framework, whereas operationally they were more likely than not, fitted with canvas covers to keep out dirt, dust and anything else which might cause damage to the airframe.
This simple but effective set from CMK consists of four cream resin parts - main undercarriage bays, rear tailwheel gear and canvas cover for rear undercarriage bay, which will just drop fit into the kit with just a little work chamfering the edges of the main u/c bay edges, replacing the kit parts provided.
Needless to say the set is also appropriate for the P-40F/L, if using the superb Grey Matter Figures conversion.
