Aviaeology | AOD32011: Canadians in Coastal Command #3: RCAF Mosquitoes of the 404 Squadron
Reviewed by Ron Patterson
Aviaeology has just released another 1/32 decal set featuring Canadians in Coastal Command, this time focusing on some of the Mossies flown by the 404 Squadron "Banff strike wing".
The set allows for 5 different airframes to be depicted:
- Mosquito FB.VI serial number RF838: EO-A
- Mosquito FB.VI serial number RF851: EO-H
- Mosquito FB.VI serial number RF882: EO-Z
- Mosquito FB.VI serial number RF856: EO-P
- Mosquito FB.VI serial number RF880: EO-X
The decal set comes on one sheet. They are packaged with a very stout sheet of cardboard to insure there will not be any bending damage during shipping. As I have found with all the Aviaeology sets I have reviewed to date, the decal sheets are flawless in execution, crisp, the color appears correct and they are in absolutely prefect register.
The comprehensive instruction sheet is printed double sided on six letter sized sheets of paper in black and white. An interesting feature when ordering from Aviaeology is that after you confirm your order they e-mail you a full color instruction set in PDF format.
Instruction information includes:
- Colours and finishes including weathering and paint wear information
- Details specific to each individual aircraft
- Very detailed profile drawings including top and bottom views
- Period pictures of many of these aircraft
- Very detailed two page layouts of information pertaining to Mosquito Rocket Projectile Installations including scale drawings
Decals available directly from the Aviaeology eBay Store. These sets have very limited availability, if you are interested do act now.
Highly recommended.
Review sample and images compliments of Aviaeology.
