Reedoak | RRC320019: USAAF Pilot Summer Uniform 12th Air Force 1944

Reviewed by Andrew Birnie

USAAF figures are remarkably thin on the ground, and those available tend to be 8th/9th Air Force types. So we have this very welcome addition in printed resin from Reedoak of France.

Wonderfully naturalistic looking up to the skies - always a nice touch with a pilot figure, with both hands on his hips, which makes a very welcome change from the norm of one hand holding a cigarette and the other in a pocket. More hands less pockets.

The figure is wearing a one-piece flying suit, a first as far as I can remember, Colt 45 in a shoulder holster, peaked cap. and is just very very nice.

The 12th Air Force flew in Italy in 1944, so if you're looking for a future project pick one of those and buy the figure, you really won't be disappointed.
