Scale Aircraft Conversions | #32080 T-6 Texan Landing Gear for 1/32 Kittyhawk Kit
Reviewed by Ray Peterson
A recent release from Scale Aircraft Conversions is this new accessory set for the new-tool Kitty Hawk 1/32nd Texan kit. The set includes the main landing gear and tail gear as well as torque links.
This set is simply meant to be a direct replacement for the kit’s plastic landing gear, providing the modeler the option to go with white metal instead of plastic. While the casting is quite good, most of the details are unchanged and any defects of the kit parts, such as molding seams, are therefore replicated on the SAC gear.
I still am not happy with the softness of the alloy used. The Texan has pretty spindly gear. The SAC gear is of course just as spindly as the kit gear and bends easily. With the way the Texan gear thins as it goes around the wheel, I am not sure the SAC gear is as strong as the kit gear and will not bend over time.
Only Recommended if needed to replace broken kit parts.
Thanks to Scale Aircraft Conversions for the review set.
