Eagle Editions | EP#48-32 Fw 190 Main Tire and Wheel set
Reviewed by Mark Proulx
Eagle Editions has just released a number of new resin items for the Hasegawa Fw 190. This is a review of their corrected wheel assembly for the A-7, A-8, A-9 and early Dora series.
Two wheels are supplied. They are shipped in a plastic container with a small set of instructions. The wheels are perfectly cast by Tiger Model Designs. They are not bulged and flattened as has become the norm for many other manufacturers. I like this option from Eagle Editions. Just lightly sand a small flat surface in the proper location. A very small casting line is visible around the circumference and should be easily removed. The hub detail is crisply molded with very fine details. It should really look good with proper dry brushing techniques. The only other item to address is that the center of the hub needs to have a hole drilled in it to accept the gear axle.
Hasegawa supplies smooth-treaded tires only in their 190 kits. This type of wheel was intended for use with the late Dora only. Therefore, these wheels are a welcome addition to those discerning modelers trying to achieve accuracy in their models. I am confident this new product from Eagle Editions is easy to adapt to your kit and should be a problem free installation. I can easily recommend them.
Review sample compliments of Eagle Editions.
