Barracuda Studios | BR32125 British 4-Slot 32" Mainwheels - Block Tread
Reviewed by Ray Peterson
A recent release from BarracudaCast is this accessory for the PCM - and any future - 1/32nd Postwar Tempest, as well as any future kits of the Firefly, Hornet, Sea Hornet, and Firebrand. The set includes two main wheels proper for the Postwar era cast in single parts. No instruction sheet is included, and is not needed. These mainwheels include fine cross-tread. They are of the 4-slot variety.
The tires have fine manufacturer markings for Dunlop on the sidewalls, which is cast very crisply. I have given part of the wheel a dark wash, which shows the tread and shows a bit of the Dunlop name. If you look closely you can see the letters are outline style. The mainwheels need to be sawed from the casting block, creating a small flat spot to rest the wheels on. The wheels may need some additional drilling to fit on the kit axles.
In conclusion, these wheels are beautifully done. They will look great on the kit and they should not take much work to fit.
Highly Recommended!
Thanks to BarracudaCals for the review set.
