Contact Resine | CR32006: 1/32 scale Polikarpov I-16 Engine and Cooling Detail Set

Since Azur's release of their D.520 a few years ago their line of 1/32 scale kits has grown in popularity and range. Recently Azur added to their large scale range with a kit of the pugnacious Polikarpov I-16.
Contact Resine has responded by creating a new detail set that focuses on the engine and cooling vent system. The set brings accuracy and detail to the Azur kit that it does not quite reach out of the box. Azur took a short cut on engine detail by offering the cowling cooling vents molded in the closed position.

The detail set offered by Contact Resine not only replaces that kit part, but goes further with 11 tan resin pieces and 2 photo-etched parts that cover the entire engine assembly, cooling flaps, and collector ring. The resin is beautifully cast from excellent masters with great attention to detail. The 1 page color instruction sheet is laid out well and printed in both French and English. The assembly diagrams are clear and well presented.
This set is a high quality offering from Contact Resine and will dress up the front end of the Azur kit very well, and the set is recommended. No parts are included for push rods or wiring and these will need to be taken care of by the modeler with rod and wire from the spares box.
