Notes | Ketchil is a story about Vic Bargh's service in Buffalos in 67 Sqd in Burma and subsequent service in Hurricanes in Burma. Vic flew a Buffalo out to India after the collapse. He scored three or four victories in the Buffalo and a later one in a Hurricane (a Ki43). He flew a wide range of aircraft incl P-36s in Burma, Spitfires in India along with P-40s in Corsair conversion back in NZ. Many personal photos of Buffalos, AVG P-40s, P-36s and Hurricanes. Pics show that not all RAF Buffalos had a half black underside. I found this book useful for modelling and attach a pic of my just completed Special Hobby 1/32 Buffalo in Vic's markings (his second 'personal' Buffalo). Vic liked his Buffalo (and every other fighter he flew) far more than his Hurricanes even though he had by far the most operational hours in Hurricanes. [Information supplied by Terry Brown.] |
