Montex 1/32 Yak-1b
By Olivier Barles
Here are a few pictures of my Montex resin Yakolev Yak-1b in 1/32 scale that a Polish Friend "imported for me" directly from Warsaw to Paris! Many Thanks to him as I had the chance to test my modeling skills on a full resin kit, something I never had the opportunity to do before that...
I have to admit I was amazed by the accuracy of this kit that has been so easy and so pleasant to work on.
As a first experience in "all resin", putting aside the use of cyanoacrylate to stick the parts all together, it is in fact not that different from a short run plastic kit with much more detailed small parts (especially when speaking about the cockpit assembling).
At least it helped me in progressively increasing the number of my 1/32 Russian fighters (with my two Trumpeter Mig-3 and my Azur Polikarpov I-16 Model 10). I wish there could be more "Russian options" at this scale, such as a Lagg-3, a Lavochkin La-5 or 7 and more Yaks (9 & 3)!
"One can dream"...
Hope you'll enjoy the pictures...
