The "late war Navy Collection" Part 5
Vought CORSAIR F4U-4 Marines, VMFT-20, El Toro/ California, 1945
Sorry guys, I know...I have 2 Corsairs in my Navy collection but...arrrghhh...I couldn `t resist. I was truly inspired by some pics of this beauty I found in the web and decided to add her to the "navy-collection" (although she´s not a real Navy bird). This model is an late mark Corsair F4U-4 and therefore i used the TRUMPETER kit I received from an LSP mate who included a few aftermarket goodies...thanx mate! The whole build went on the "normal" way with building the complete fuselage/ wing structures, adding a motor for the prop and also one for the wingfold. Wingfold mechanics are the same as described in the article "Navy-collection part 3".
So far, so good, but...the navy collection is far away from being complete! There is still an AVENGER waiting (will try to make her wingfold work too) and then someone should call Mr Trumpeter to tell that we desperately need a HELLDIVER!
Thanx for looking, hope you enjoy this project like I did (I and still do)!
