ICM 1/32nd Hs-123A

By Jindřich Kulhavý

Here is my finished Henschel Hs 123A-1 Late model.

Sturzkampfgeschwader 165 was a unit of the Luftwaffe of the Wehrmacht before the Second World War. It was equipped with Henschel Hs 123 A and Junkers Ju 87A dive bombers and trained crews for air raids. It was incorporated into Dive Bomber Wing 77 on May 1, 1939.

The planes arrived at the airport in Cheb (Eger) for a few days in 1938-1939, the exact date has not been preserved, we only find photos from this "visit".

I re-created a machine that was in Cheb during the Eger war. The period 1938 to 1939 is not easy in terms of camouflage of the machine but I was lucky and I found enough photos in publications, the internet and in a friend's archive.

The construction of the model was not easy and there are some intricacies in the engine cover and in the placement of the upper wing.

I mixed the pre-war Luftwaffe colors myself because the range of these colors is very different in shades, I used Model Master Colors and I did not do the wear and tear of the machine because I did not find much wear in the photos and the machines were very new at this time.

I made the decals myself.
