Matchbox 1/32 Spitfire Mk 22

Martin had started this and left it on his shelf of doom. I might have said something rude about it, which is not like me at all, wink, because it ended up on my porch not long later as a challenge, LOL.
It had the Grey Matter nose epoxied on, along with resin gun covers on the wings. I started by making and casting new tailplanes (two sets) as the Matchbox items are just wrong.
I also cobbled together a cockpit with spare parts and scratch, used a spinner and blades left over from my Mk XIV builds, added brass gun barrels, resin wheels, resin gear covers, and a Tamiya canopy and the windscreen were blended in.
I filled in a lot of deep trench lines and primed the entire thing and re-scribed 90% of it, adding fasteners with the beading tools. Luckily, I had some splendid line drawings which were invaluable.
Several other minor details were also added, too numerous to mention.
I had some old Model Master paint, so I thought I would use them up: old paint on an old kit!
It was a long slog, but I did enjoy the challenge. It was fun trying to make it look like something presentable, but once is enough!
