Hobby Boss 1/32nd A-26 Invader
By Jindřich Kulhavý

Here is my model of the A-26B Invader.

The Invader is in colors of the 9 AF, 416BG, 371BW “Maggies Drawers.” On April 10, 1945, the mission was set to destroy the large railway viaduct near the city of Eger (Cheb). This important railway was the connection between the east and the west. The raid was successful, and the railway connection was interrupted. The viaduct was repaired again, taking several years, and is still in use today. I was lucky for the camouflage because I found references on the Internet where there is a long video and a great website on the history of the 416th.
The first surprise when opening the box was that version C is very different from version B and the kit was missing fine details like exhausts, etc. For such a large model, I expected the model to be more elaborate and detailed.

I used the following accessories:
- Scale Aircraft Conversions
- Quinta Studios
- 3D printed wheels
- For the base, the Thunder Model 1/32 US Clarktor 6 Tug

The photos show the overall modifications. The model is heavy and even though I had metal landing gear (SAC), I was worried that the landing gear would bend, which was confirmed. I solved it with struts made of transparent material.

For painting, I used Tamiya and Model Master colors. I made the decals myself.

Enjoy!
