Trumpeter 1/32 F-100D Super Sabre

By Alain Personeni

The context: It is March 1978 in the back of a hangar at the French air base 188 located in Djibouti. Captain Croci and some mechanics, armed with brushes and paint guns, draw and paint a worrying shark jaw in the pure style of the "Flying Tigers" on a F 100 D "Super Sabre." Twenty-eight teeth on the upper jaw, twenty-two on the lower one, and mad eyes complete the natural aggressiveness of the plane.

Later, the recce pod, adorned by an eagle head, is borrowed from the 498th "The Falcons" squadron, flying the B-25J "Mitchell."

Here is my F 100 D from Trumpy. A good kit with its flaws and its positives.

Some add-ons: Renaissance Model's cockpit, corrected nose/air duct, and the recce pod. I also added a few wires in the gear bays, in the airbrake well, etc.

Now, enjoy or not, thanks for watching!
