Eduard 1/32 Bf 108
By Wouter Groenen
Around 2018 a new player, Striped Fighter, announced this little kit. As far as I know, Striped Fighter was short lived. Luckily for us Eduard picked up where they left off and released the kit in 2020. But I was initially attracted to the artwork from Striped Fighter, depicting their aircraft as Willy Messerschmitt's personal aircraft. Sadly, Eduard didn't release the kit with this scheme. This left me with two options, create it myself or choose another scheme. I chose the former.
The kit was not really difficult to build. The best part is the cockpit. The plastic is rather flimsy, however, and one has to take care not to damage it.
Painting was done with a homebrew mix of Mr. Paint colors (they don't have RLM05 Cream in their program). Not an easy color to get consistent coverage with. Also, it didn't play nice with the plastic, thus needing some retouching here and there, which didn't make things better either.
Markings where created by hand. I wished I would have looked up someone with a vinyl cutter; not really happy how things turned out. Especially the numbers on the side. But I'll give it a pass. Looking at it from a distance, it turned out ok in my opinion.
Enjoy!
