Trumpeter 1/32 A-4E Skyhawk, Converted to a B & Trumpeter MiG-17F

By Jindřich Kulhavý

Here is my Vietnam-era A-4B and a cameo of its adversary, the MiG-17.

I found inspiration in the book "MiGs Over North Vietnam" by R. Bonifac and also in the Airfix 1:72 kit, so I thought I'd make one twice as big in 1:32 scale.

It is a complete rebuild of the Trumpeter A-4E Skyhawk, a conversion to the B version. The change mainly concerns the fuselage and air inlets for the engine, etc.

The kit is well equipped with ordnance, I only added the Mk. 82s by Eduard Brassin.

I used decals from AOADecals - only stars, signs and stencils - I made the VA 15 markings, numbers and inscriptions myself.

The MiG - 17 kit is also from Trumpeter, I made a small conversion to the F Fresco version that was deployed in Vietnam.

For this kit, I used Model Master colors and made the decals myself.
