HpH 1/32 Walrus
By Bruce David
I thought I would show this off here as you don't see many built.
This is certainly not my best work by far. There was a severe loss of enthusiasm halfway through the project. To the point I sold off most of my more complex 1/32 scale kits as this put me off long term projects. There are far too many kits in my stash to spend 4 months on just one build! Weirdly though the other 2 HPH kits in my stash, the DH Hornet and the Helldiver survived the cull. The Walrus having not put me off HpH kits in general.
Those of you who are familiar with the kit will notice there are a few parts that did not make it onto the finished model. I had reached a stage where I just wanted it off the bench and to move onto something else (a lovely 1/48 Arma Hurricane to assuage the pain!). So, the weathering is not nearly as far as I wanted to take it either. She is finished as a RAAF machine from 5 Communications Flight, New Guinea, 1943.
Although, far from happy with the finished model, it does look impressive in the cabinet and does give me some satisfaction that I saw it through to completion.
For those of you interested, check out my build log.
Thanks for looking!
