Tamiya 1/32 Spitfire IX, Converted to a XIV

By Thomas Lund

Following the trend of my most recent fetish - building planes of pilots from as many different nations as possible - I present Spitfire XIV RN133 FF-B flown by Kenneth Charney, born in Argentina.

This is the Tamiya Spitfire IX with Laminar flow's superb XIV conversion plus the cockpit upgrade. I also used HGW belts and Eduard wheels.

Most all of the markings and many other items were painted with homemade masks. 1ManArmy stencil masks were also used.

By the way, I used two of Tamiya's magnets to mount the propeller, so it is detachable but sits very securely (note the pics of the underside). Wish I could do that for pitot's as well.

Enjoy!
