Tamiya 1/32 F-16C/CJ Converted to a Belgian F-16AM
By Niels Sørensen
Finally brought yet another F-16 across the finish line. An F-16AM from the Belgian Air Force - or Belgian Air Component as I believe they now call themselves.
The moment I saw that Model Maker Decals were releasing a Masking & Decal set for the X-Tiger, I knew I simply had to build it. I got a chance to see the real thing up-close at the Danish Airshow in 2022 and I thought it looked really cool.
The kit used is actually the Tamiya F-16C/CJ kit. I had the NSI air intake and rear end left over from a Thunderbird kit build where I used resin aftermarket stuff instead.
I used quite a bit of other aftermarket stuff so here goes...
- Aires Cockpit
- Aires Wheelbays (only main)
- Wolfpack Ejection Seat
- PWMP Belgian F-16 Conversion (Tail base and Carapace)
- Kopecky Pylons (LAU 127 & 129, Sniper Pod pylon and short centerline pylon)
- Orange Hobby static dischargers
- Eduard Sniper Pod
- Reskit AIM-120´s and ALQ-131
- Brengun AIM-9X
- KASL Light Weight Gear doors
- Crossdelta strengthening plates
I am really happy how this turned out and my display cabinet is turning out to host quite the F-16 party by now.
