Tamiya 1/32 P-51D Mustang
By Mathieu Duvivier
Here is a build I finished last summer on which I worked on for some time.
The subject is the P-51D-20 bu.no. 44-72218, the uber-known John Landers's P-51D "Big Beautiful Doll."
The timeframe of my build is set to before Landers was appointed full colonel, so no checkers on the wings, and the victory board was not complete yet.
In order to avoid varnish coat or silvering, all markings are painted, and the stencils are from HGW.
After-Market Used:
- Amur Flaps
- Barracuda's cockpit stencils
- GW external stencils
- Yahu IP (was given a bit of relief with added bezels)
- Lifelike Decals. Used as reference to make the masks. The only actual decal used is the name on the canopy frame.
She's not perfect, but I hope you will like her!
