Hasegawa 1/32 P-40E Warhawk

By Tolga Ulgur

Here is another tick off my P-40 Warhawk to do list. This is 1/32 Hasegawa P-40E Warhawk with the markings of “Kay - Strawberry Blonde” flown by Sammy Pierce of the 8th FS / 49th FG in Doboudura, New Guinea during the Spring of 1943.

The inspiration for this build is the profile in Kagero's Curtiss P-40 Warhawk book.

The cockpit was modified with an Eduard PE instrument panel and seat belts.

I have also used the Quickboost exhaust set and Grey Matter main wheels.

The gunsight is from Master.

The nose art, “Kay Strawberry Blonde,” was made by Custom Hobby Decals and the numbers of “Red 42” are by my friend Ozkan Turker.

Paints are Gunze Sangyo acrylics.

Happy modelling!
