Hasegawa 1/32 Spitfire Ia
By Tolga Ulgur
This is a 1/32 Spitfire Mk.1a with the markings of “FZ-L K9906” of No. 65 Squadron, based at RAF Hornchurch, April 1939.
Firstly, I have to thank Mr Alistair McLean from Aerocraft models for the critical help on the unarmored early style windscreen. He has produced a customized clear resin windscreen for this project.
I have used a lot of after market goodies in this project.
Raised fuselage panel lines were changed to engraved lines by rescribing.
I have used the Barracudacast cockpit improvement set, a Yahu instrument panel and a Quickboost seat for cockpit enhancement. Armor plate on the headrest is deleted due to its service period.
The late style oil cooler was deleted and EagleParts corrected Mk I oil cooler installed.
Horizontal tailplanes are from Master Details.
I have used, as usual, Archer Fine Transfer resin fasteners on the engine cowling.
Other enhancements are as follows:
- Quickboost exhaust set
- Quickboost Spinner and propeller set
- Barracudacast wheels
- Barracudacast cockpit door
- Scale Aircraft Conversion landing legs
- Unarmored windscreen from Aerocraft Models
- Scratchbuilt early type pitot tube
Paints : Gunze Sangyo acrylics and Alclad metalizers.

Happy Modelling!
