Modellbau Bodensee 2005/1st official LSP-Europe Meeting 2005 Part 2
By Chris Novak
The birds in detail: Grumman FM-2, old REVELL "Wildcat", heavily modified (motor, cowling, vertical-stab)
F4U-1D, old REVELL kit
F4U-1D, Trumpeter, with working wingfold
F4U-4, TRUMPETER, also with working wingfold. Unfortunately this bird was nearly "scrapped" by a too-curious visitor and is a 80%-damage. Can be repaired but because both landing-gears are broken one of the power-connections are non-repairable, we´ll see which systems are working when she´s back again. Although this is a case for the visitors private insurance these are the things which can make you mad and steal you the mood for showing your work on expos...it happens. Here´s the last pic "before".....;-)
F6F-5 "HELLCAT", HASEGAWA", modified
Because of the great feedback last year I showed my "Stang and Jugs"-display again (3 stangs, 3 jugs)
One of the jugs were replaced by a "new-entry", here she is: P-47 D Bubbletop, REVELL, with the markings of Schillings "Hairless-Joe" from the great LSP decal sheet
"Hun Hunter", REVELL
the "Checkerboard-Stangs"...
.....couldn't resist to show them one more time...the "Spit-sisters".........Matchbox MK 24 and heavily modified FR 47 "Seafire"
More 1/32 planes:
MiG
F5-E
F-104 in "progress"
Not 1/32 but also.....biiiiiiig!....two of the increadible selfmade-vacus in 1/48 from my clubmate Jürgen Schutzbach
Nice Tornado
Also nice: Heli Display
Another "Phantom"
And for the Sci-Fi freaks:
Finally, there was a contest on Saturday where all LSP´ers signed in but not all could get a cup or a medal (Menelaos and myself couldn´t manage it). Anyway, LSP as a club was perfectly represented by Bekim and Chris Kirchhoff. Bekim got a 2nd place in planes-category with his "Red-tail-stang....congrats!
And the "expo-greenhorn" did it with the "magic-five": his 1st expo, his 1st contest, 1st place in class (1/32), 1st place in category (planes) and 1st place in contest....Best of show! Well deserved, congrats, mate! (...but next year it wont be that easy, take this as a promise from me and Doc! ;-) )
Chris Kirchoffs D-9
Summary: Again a great show this year, lots of fun (although a 3-day-expo is also a bit of stress sometimes), great to meet people you know only "online" from a forum personally, if there´s any interest I´ll try to manage a LSP-Europe meeting again next year and hopefully LSP members from countries around Germany will represent LSP as a great, nice and friendly modelling-community.
Thanx again to the LSP-staff and PMC-Bodensee staff for kind support to make this event happen.
