Revell/Monogram 1/24 UH-1B Huey

By Artur Kapusta

I recently finished the 1/24 UH-1B Huey from Revell/Monogram.

The model is the really old Monogram first edition which was released in 1969.

Its age is perceptible while building. Warped parts, weak details, and the transparent elements needed to be polished. Prepare for a lot of filling and sanding!

The build was a little longer than I had planned because I decided to make a few corrections. The instrument panel is modified, along with the seats. The rear troop bench is scratch-built. The upholstery is made with baking paper. Also, the cooling vents are new, complete with wire mesh cover. Instead of the included sharkmouth decal I used self-made masks. The surfboard is made from thin plank.

Painting is done with Tamiya, Gunze, AK, and Vallejo. Chipping is with AK Fluid and weathering is AMMO by MIG, AK Interactive, Vallejo and Tamiya pigments, washes, and fluids.

I hope you like it!
