PCM 1/32 Fiat G.55 “S”
By Andrea Calebich
The model is a Fiat G.55 “S” (“Silurante”, torpedo carrier) obtained from the Pacific Coast kit 1/32 scale with the addition of Cammett Ltd conversion (differs from standard G.55 for double underwings water coolers and long tail wheel leg). Built out-of-box.
Only one prototype was produced, tested in the spring of 1945 - just before the end of WWII - by Capt. Adriano Mantelli of A.N.R. (The aviation of the Social Republic of Italy, the new allied state of the Nazis created by Mussolini after the armistice of September 8, 1943).
