Trumpeter 1/32 P-38H

This is the Trumpeter P-38 that has been converted from -L to a -H. This was built some time ago. Used Cutting Edge set - cockpit, boom radiator housings, the early nacelle oil cooler housings, front canopy, Jerry Rutman - prop blades and tires/wheels, Eduard detail sets. The fuselage pod decal was printed on a printer/decal sheet. The plane was flown in late '43 - early '44 by the group CO Obie Taylor of the 14th Fighter Group. He ended his tour early due to serious medical problem.

Paints were Model Master olive drab/faded olive drab/neutral gray. Weathering with oils.
