Revell 1/32 Duo Discus with Engine
By Mark Costello
Here is my 1/32 Revell Germany Duo Discus with Engine.
This was a simple, fun build. The fit was really good with only a little filler needed in a couple of places. There was quite a bit of flash on the kit. The only changes I made to the kit were replacing the pitot tube with brass rod, the plastic tube broke off while cleaning up the parts. I also replace the front engine doors with sheet styrene and added the engine retraction wires. I modified the stand by filling in the slot for the vertical piece and added a piece of brass rod. I added a brass tube in the fuselage to accept the rod for the stand.
The paint scheme is fictional and completely painted except for the Duo Discus scripts, which were decals. I masked the registration number using Tamiya tape masks I cut with my Silhouette Portrait cutter. The white is Tamiya fine white primer and the orange is the little square bottle Testors fluorescent orange enamel. The blue registration numbers are Tamiya X-4 blue. The whole thing was over coated with Future.
