Revell 1/32 BAe Hawk T1
By Matt Porter
This is one of my recent models, the Revell 1/32 Hawk T1. I have modelled a 4fts red and white training machine from RAF Valley which was on loan to 2twu at RAF Chivenor in the mid '80s. I chose this particular aircraft as I really like the red and white scheme but also like the look of the Hawk with the Aden gun pack.
The kit is great, especially for the money (£9 eBay!) but it fought me every step of the way! I had trouble with the fit of the major components (my inexperience and not the kits fault) and then really struggled with re-scribing panel lines, etc. I added the BigEd PE set and Xtradecals sheets for maintenance stencils and squadron markings. But when all is said and done I'm happy with the result I learned a lot and enjoyed myself in the process! I was a little worried I had over weathered it, but even though well maintained I think they were also well used!
