Wingnut Wings 1/32 Pfalz D.IIIa

By Wolf Buddee

This is my second completed Wingnut Wings kit and I can honestly say, when it comes to WWI kits, there ain't nothin' better out there. Aftermarket items used were Taurus Models resin valve train assembly, their fuel primer cups, spark plugs and intake manifold locking rings. Master Models brass barrels and cooling jackets for the Spandau MGs were used as were Aviattic's fabric effect 5 colour lozenge decals in combination with the kit rib tape decals. I also employed GasPatch models turnbuckles, Bob's Buckles brass tubing, and 2lb fishing line to rig the plane. I scratch built the throttle linkage for the carburetor and used Detail Master wire to make the ignition leads. All in all a very fun project (well...some of the rigging wasn't that much fun).
