Tamiya 1/32 F4U-1 Corsair
By Peter Willstein
What can I say, Tamiya has given us a nearly perfect kit a joy to build and a totally wonderful experience. What few issues I had were my own doing; not reading the instructions carefully. None were earth shattering and easily corrected.
For the first time, I used EZ Line for the antenna wires – I was really surprised at the ease of use and no problems at all: glad I didn't go with stretched sprue. I added the few remaining parts, painted the wing braces red (thanks Ron), folded and installed the PE rear view mirror on the canopy and weathered the exhausts with charcoal gray pigments. I'll be revisiting this in a spell to add a bit more grime and exhaust shoot, plus fixing a few little odds and ends.
A fantastic kit, fun to build and absolutely worth twice the price.
