Revell 1/32 Sea Venom
By Peter Booij
Revell reissued the Matchbox Sea Venom in 2008, I started the kit right away. It has resided several years on the shelf of doom until I decided to finish it. The cockpit is detailed with some scratch items. Added are Whirlybirds resin ejection seats for the Lightning T4/T5, which are a variant of the ones found in the Sea Venom. Although not entirely correct, they look much better than the kit seats. Now, some very nice Sea Venom seats are available from Harold.
Dropped Flaps and deployed speed brakes are added to add some interest. The engine and the landing gear have received additional detail as well. Correct tail bumpers and catapult hooks are also added.
The Sea Venom looks very colorful with Suez crisis stripes added, so that was the paint scheme chosen. The markings are a mix of home made decals and kit decals.
I decided to keep it clean. There is a build thread for this model in the forums.
