Fisher 1/32 RAAF Ryan STM Circa 1942
By Brent Simpson
This is my Fisher Ryan STM, built as a RAAF aircraft serving at Temora, New South Wales from 1942 until 1945. I have depicted it as a squadron hack and as such have weathered it a little more heavily than I normally would. It was eventually broken up for spare parts in March 1945. Research indicated that the aircraft was refurbished in Sydney by Qantas following its arrival from the Dutch East Indies. Photos indicate that at this time Sutton Harnesses were added. The RAAF found that the aircraft was unsuitable for training and were used as Squadron hacks/liason aircraft.
The kit went together without any dramas and I would recommend it to anybody who is yet to do a resin model.
Modifications and additions:
- RB Productions Sutton harnesses
- Added a pitot tube made from brass wire
- Rigged with knitting-in elastic
Painted using Model Master Insignia Yellow.
