Tamiya 1/32 P-51D Mustang - Old Crow
By Peter Willstein
This has been a joy to build and exceeded all my expectation. There are still a few bits I still need to do but I'll catch up with them in a week or so (ammo bay door braces and painting the canopy rails). I've learned a lot about working with Alclad and have made friends with Alclad/NMF's, which for the longest of times, I avoided like the plague. The leading edge gear cover plates are only test fitted in place, to make sure I have access to the gear if need be. Once I'm sure the gear is A-OK, I'll glue them in place.
I'll call the vignette: Little Friends, as the figure is really a bomber pilot, just looking over one the 'Little Friends' – bomber escort.
I decided to keep Old Crow shiny and clean, as there is just a touch of exhaust stains on the machine guns and cartridge ejection chutes.
