Tamiya 1/32 F4U-1 Corsair

By Jeffrey Brundt

The kit was built straight from the box. Paint is primarily Tamiya with Model Master for the blues on the top coat. I applied oil washes and dry brushing for weathering. The carrier deck is from Just Plane Stuff. It too was painted with Tamiya and had some oil and acrylic washes applied to 'pop' the details.

The kit is perfect. Everything fits...precisely. Until now I thought Tamiya's 1/32 F-16 was the best engineered kit available. But Tamiya really outdid themselves with this one. Fit was so precise that I was able to build most everything as major sub-assemblies that were painted then final assembled. This really helped with masking chores and reducing overspray problems typical with multi-toned schemes.
